Airman by Eoin Colfer
Conor was born while his parents were in a hot air balloon and he feels that he was born to fly. His father is a close friend of the king of a small island and with the help of his tutor, Conor is trying to find some way to fly. But when the king is murdered by a traitor Conor is framed and finds himself in prison on a neighboring island. With the help of his cellmate Conor finds a way to stay alive while working on his plans for his own wings that he hopes will let him escape. If Conor can escape he hopes to get revenge on the man who has framed him, regain the love of his parents whom he believes have turned against him, and win the love of the king’s daughter. A fantastic adventure that is similar to the classic The Count of Monte Cristo.
