Girl in the Arena by Lise Haines
Gladiator fighting has become big business in the United States and Lyn is the daughter of a professional gladiator wife. Her mother has married seven gladiators but when her last husband is killed in the arena she cannot marry again because of the strict bylaws governing the community. The Gladiator Sports Association threatens to take away everything Lyn, her mother and her younger brother Thad have unless Lyn agrees to marry the man who killed her latest father. Although they could continue to live in luxury Lyn has always hoped for a life outside of the arena. She is faced with little choice until she comes up with a plan to free herself and her brother forever - she offers to fight her suitor in the arena to the death.
