Abby Spencer Goes to Bollywood by Varsha Bajaj

Abby has never known her father but has wondered why he has no contact with her.  Her mother has only told her that they dated in college but that they lost contact when he had to go back to India.  After Abby has an allergic reaction to coconut she begins to wonder what else she might have inherited from her father.  Her mother reaches out to him and Abby discovers that he is actually a Bollywood star and sex symbol who never knew she existed since his father never game him any of her mother's messages.  Excited to get to know his daughter, he invites Abby to spend time with him in India but their relationship must be kept a secret until his new movie is released and he has a chance to present his long lost daughter to the press correctly.  I'm okay with this being a somewhat slight book but I'm not okay with the poor writing.  Tenses are mixed within a paragraph and the timeline is mixed up at times as if the author forgot that she said Abby didn't wake up until noon.  I wanted this to be better because the descriptions of life in India were interesting and something that would be unknown to students.
