Elissa has been troubled by nightmares for the past few years - nightmares she awakes from with physical injuries and pains. No one has been able to help her but now a new doctor promises a cure if she undergoes a surgery to burn off the overactive part of her brain. Desperate to be normal again, Elissa agrees to the procedure but just days before she has another nightmare where she sees herself running from a burning building and hiding under and overpass. When she sees the same burning building on the news she wonders if her dreams are more than that. Elissa makes her way to the site of the fire and finds the twin sister she never knew she had huddled in the spot she saw in her dream. Although Elissa never knew she had a sister, her twin has always known about her but just accepted her lot in life to be used for something Elissa could never imagine. Feeling they can trust no one, the two sisters must escape to save Lin's life. I put this book down about 1/3 of the way into it because the writing was just so dull. When it was nominated for a book club program I had to pick it back up to finish but it still didn't do anything for me. The "twist" of what the twins are being used for is nothing new if you have watched/read much sci fi and I didn't find either sister engaging enough to keep me interested for long.
